Mid-July, the Downtown Farmington Founders Festival draws thousands of families to Downtown Farmington.
Established to celebrate Farmington's recognition as the state's first Quaker settlement, Founders Festival continues to represent the rich cultural heritage of Farmington and Farmington Hills.
Crafters from around the country display their artwork and wares for sale and vendors offer a wide variety of food and snacks. Children's activities abound, and Farmington rocks around the clock with musical acts and specialty entertainment for all ages.
A highlight of the three-day event, the Founders Festival Parade begins Saturday morning at Power Road and winds up at the intersection of Grand River Avenue and Liberty Street. The Walker's Tavern serves as reunion central, as people gather to catch up and enjoy live music every night while enjoying the Famous Elk's Ox Roast.
Historical tours, artwork, Walker's Tavern and Fantasy Raffle are just some of the many wonderful features that keep people coming back year after year.

Walker's Tavern
(Beer Tent)
Volunteers are
needed to make this event possible! We will need volunteers for wrist-banding,
ticket sales, beer pouring and wine pouring. This is a fun night to socialize
and be a part of your community. Volunteer Shifts will be in 2 hour increments
(Noon-2, 2-4pm, 4-6pm, 6-8pm, 8-10pm, & 10-Midnight).
The Tavern carries the tradition of gathering friends, old and
new, great music, cold beverages and casual food on warm summer days and
nights in downtown Farmington. Walker's Tavern, home to many unofficial high school reunion
gatherings and parties for groups of co-workers and neighbors, is always
a highlight of the Downtown Farmington Founders Festival.
